Regular Membership Meeting
March 8, 2010
The meeting was called to order by President Ed Brown at 8:00 pm with 19 members present. The minutes from February 2010 meeting were read.
Motion: Derek Grier Accept the reading of the minutes, seconded by Scot Gillette, carried by membership.

Communications:
1. NFPA Conference and Expo June 5th, 2010 in Las Vegas
2. Resident Adoption Agency that helps people adopt children that are in need of a home, are looking for sponsors
3. Spaghetti on Ice by the Muscular Dystrophy Association in conjunction with the Elmira Jackals is looking for sponsors
4. Project Graduation Normally give a $50 donation will discuss under new business

Motion: Derek Grier Pay the bills and accept the money, seconded by Al Wackowicz, carried by membership.
Trustees Reports:
1. Chris Lester: 75 percent of the bylaws have been completely revised and will have them ready to look at before next month so they can be voted on before June. Hard copies will be available next Tuesday's practice. She will need them back before April 6, to correct any typos before the April meeting. Bylaws will be voted on at April's meeting. Copies will then be made for everyone.
Action: Vote on revised bylaws at April's monthly meeting
2. The changes have been made to the application for membership.
3. 501c3 Application: Chris Lester has to give Jen Grier the Conflict of Interest Policy, and other than that it is ready to go. Will finish that out next Tuesday.
Committee Report:
1. Pancake Breakfast: served: 232 people* Had multiple people with multiple food tickets

Next Breakfast is this Sunday, March 14, 2010
Proceeds will go towards outfitting the new Rhino to put it in service
2. Family Picnic: Cindy Ervay talked to Melody Smith and tentatively scheduled for September 12th, but will check to see if she can move that up to June (5th or 12th). Membership is okay with changing the location to Nichols park or some other location if needed. Budget is $800.
Action:
1. Check with Melody Smith about changing the date and possibly the location.
2. Come up with some options, present them at the next meeting and the membership will pick the best one.
3. Spencer Picnic: Dunking booth has been okayed by the Chamber and the picnic committee
Action:
1. Mary would like to come to the next monthly meeting to discuss a couple of new things that will be happening at the picnic
2. Mary would also like a couple people of the fire department to come to the Chamber Meeting either this month or next month. Hazel Saikkonen and Al Wackowicz will discuss and determine the date that they can go to the Chamber meeting
3. Reserve the dunking booth after the April meeting
4. Rhino 450: Ready to go, we just have to have training completed on it. We need red lights, lettering, and a winch.
Motion: Josh Smith Spend up to $500 on the lettering, winch, and lights for the Rhino, Seconded by Derek Grier, carried by membership
5. Fish Fry: Schedule Doug's Fish Fry for a date this fall. They will come to our location and do all the cooking and will give us 10% off the proceeds. The are currently scheduling 3-6 months in advance
Motion: Chris Lester - Contact Doug's Fish Fry to schedule a fish fry in the fall, seconded by Art Grover, carried by membership

1. Everyone is healthy.

1. Jen Grier has gotten the Fire Department all signed up for online banking at TSB and received the $10 credit to our account
Old / Unfinished Business:
1. Amy Crance: Chaplain would like to have the code for the charge account at the SureFine. The Chaplain needs to call Jen Grier if she needs a check for something
2. Amy Crance: New Chaplain's Procedures
Motion: Robbie Ervay Funerals: Active members get flowers for $50-$75, NonActive members get flowers up to $50, Active Duty deaths in surrounding departments get flowers between $50 - $75, All other life members get a card including other life events, seconded by Amy Crance, carried by membership
3. Jen Grier: If you charge anything at the SureFine, make sure you write what it is for on the receipt and give it to Jen Grier
4. Robbie Ervay: Owego will have a burn training center built and operational in 2011
New Business:
1. Chris Lester: Bylaws have been rearranged the duties to make it easier to follow
2. Chris Lester: Each month have a more detailed report of where the money is going including other items that are paid during the month that will be included in the minutes of the monthly meeting
3. Amy Crance: Would like a list of active and inactive members
Action: If you hear that something has happened to a member or past member, please let Amy Crance know
4. Drug and Alcohol Policy:
1. Vote: Membership voted and passed the Drug and Alcohol Policy
5. Chicken BBQ: Ed will call and talk to the chicken guy and will try to get a date (the last weekend) in April. Both chicken and pork will be available. Presale tickets will be available at the monthly meeting and will be due back on the mandatory practice night (one week later). We do the best when we sell the presale tickets
Motion: Derek Grier Ed Brown is in charge of getting all the Chicken BBQ stuff set up, seconded by Chris Lester, carried by membership
6. Project Graduation:
Motion: Al Wackowicz - $50 donation to Project Graduation, seconded by Amy Crance, carried by membership
7. Chris Garland: Dirt roads are getting soft, please stay off of the shoulders until they harden up
8. Ed Brown: Issued a press release yesterday to thank Cargill for the donation and the other local supporters. It also mentions that the proceeds from the next Pancake Breakfast will be put towards outfitting the Rhino. It should run in the Broader View, Random Harvest, and the Ithaca Journal
9. Daylight Savings time is this Sunday. Please remember to set your clocks ahead
